Telescoping Smart-Arm: Model TLS - Torque Location Sensor
The TLS, Torque Location Sensor is a low cost solution for controlling a screwdriver based on its X-Y location. Power is only activated to the tool when it is in a pre-programmed location.
This unit consists of:
- a small control box
- telescoping torque arm with two encoders
The screwdriver control unit is easily connected to the Kolver TLS via a wiring block on the back of the unit. Any electric screwdriver with remote start/stop capability can be connected and controlled by the Kolver TLS controller. The system is programmed by moving the screwdriver to the desired location and pushing the OK button.

The telescoping torque arm includes two encoders. One is a string encoder that runs inside the telescoping arm and the other is located at the pivot point at the end of the unit.
Functionality notes:
- When used with a singel torque screwdriver, like the Kolver FAB, RAF or Singel torque PLUTO; the TLS will count the number of correctly tightend screws and ensure all the screws are in the corrcct location.
- When used with a multi P-Set tool the unit also allows for P-Set selection by location and interface to a bit/socket tray for the added control of bit and socket selection.
